Retirement is a significant milestone in anyone’s life. It marks the end of one chapter, the beginning of another and a time to reflect on years of hard work and dedication. In honoring Shelley’s retirement and in lieu of a farewell party we have opted to make a donation of $1000 to our local zoo, Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium.
Shelley has always been passionate about animals and conservation. She often shares stories of her visits to the zoo and her love for wildlife. Shelley has even saved several baby squirrels from being abandoned by their mothers, turning them over to wildlife rehabilitators.
Our donation to our local zoo not only celebrates Shelley’s retirement, but also contributes to a cause that she deeply cares about. Zoos play a vital role in educating the public about wildlife conservation and preserving natural habitats. Shelley’s plans upon retirement include volunteering at the zoo, which is what led us to make the donation. We want to honor her in a way that is meaningful to her first and foremost.
In lieu of gifts for Shelley she asks that we donate to our local Zoo, Humane Society, or Animal Rescue. They need it more than ever right now. Who knows? Maybe we will see Shelley the next time we visit the zoo!
